The beaches near Havana are mostly deserted at the turn of the year, if you ignore the centers of tourism. Here you may find peace and beauty and a lot of things, which the sometimes stormy ocean washes to the beaches. For the cuban people the temperatures in the winter are  too cold to swim in the ocean, but for european people the ocean at this time of the year is rather refreshing.
